Dog Dog Goose Flowers

Ashley (and Ellie) have been growing dahlias in New Hampshire since 2017. The obsession began with only four varieties, and has grown to over 100 regularly planted varieties and about 1000 tubers harvested every fall.

We began sharing and selling dahlias in 2021 and 2022 with a limited number of dahlias available. We have now grown enough to be able to share dahlias with friends and dahlias addicts across the United States – shipping as far as Texas and Washington state!

Please be patient with the process, gardening and life can be unpredictable — but that’s why it’s so beautiful! We hope you enjoy your flowers as much as we have!

FAQ

How do I know that my dahlias will be healthy?

Quality and healthy plants are important! Plants in my garden are inspected daily for pests and any sign of disease; if anything looks questionable, it is removed. I only sell plants that I would be happy to grow again myself. Many growers will send out plant tissue samples to be tested for viruses, but I have not found the need to do this (and it’s incredibly cost prohibitive considering the number of viruses that could possibly impact a single plant). To ensure a healthy garden, “new to the farm” dahlias are always grown in individual grow bags for at least a year to ensure that they are healthy stock before being added to my gardens, and all tools are sanitized between cuts.

That being said, the American Dahlia Society has stated that almost 87% of healthy looking dahlias have some sort of virus, so there are no guarantees of “clean” stalk from any farm, really. The good news is that dahlias are resilient, and even if they have a dormant virus, your personal care and good practice will keep the plant looking and feeling healthy for a very long time. Knowing how to keep plants healthy through pest management and the right nutrition is the best thing for your dahlias. The American Dahlia Society is probably the best dahlia resource around – so if you haven’t joined, I highly recommend it. Their database combines the knowledge and education of hundreds of professional gardeners and horticulture scientists and offers it for only $30 per year!

What happens if my tubers don’t grow?

Each tuber is sold with a viable eye or growth, so good storage habits will keep your tubers viable until they are ready to plant. If any of your tubers look questionable upon receipt, send me a photo and I will refund you for that tuber. Unfortunately, I do not always have the inventory to replace tubers during the same growing season. Refund requests need to be made with 48 hours of package delivery (I can’t help you if you let your tubers bake in the sun for three days before opening the package).

A lot can happen between the time when tubers are shipped to when they are planted and the first sprouts appear – storage conditions (too dry or too damp), planting conditions (over-watering or pests), etc. can result in the failure of a tuber despite the tubers being healthy when they arrived, so there are no guarantees once your dahlias have been planted.

What if my variety does not grow true to its label?

Mistakes happen, and occasionally a tuber will be mislabeled. If that happens, I am more than happy to offer a refund if requested or will ensure that you receive double the correct variety the following year (if it is still available).

How will I receive my tubers?

Tubers will be packaged in bags and boxes with a small amount of wood shavings for insulation and padding, but should be opened immediately to receive some air circulation and then stored in a dark, cool place until ready to plant (40-55 F).

Shipping begins in mid-April and will depend on weather conditions. I always look at the shipping route before shipping tubers and will never ship if I am concerned about freezing temperatures. Local Pickup is also available.

Can I combine shipping on multiple orders?

Yes there IS Combined Shipping available! For any order after your first (to the same address), use shipping code COMBINE2026 to waive the shipping fee on combined orders. Valid through 4/15/2026. Misuse of this code will result in order cancellation.

There is also Free Shipping on 15+ Items: Free shipping on orders of 15 items or more, this will be applied automatically at checkout. (If you paid for shipping before meeting the Free Shipping quota (15+ items), but subsequent orders bring your total over 14 items, you will receive two free tubers (grower’s choice) in lieu of a shipping refund.) Dahlia packs count as one (1) item.

I’m local, is there a way to pickup my order to save on shipping?
